Chomp Casino is a UK-facing casino site, part of the Nektan Limited family of casinos. A provider of white label casino sites, Nektan works with partner brands to provide a high quality gambling experience across the various sites powered by their software. While this is a slightly different business structure from that displayed by most casino operators, but for players, this means immediate comfort from the network effect – with every additional casino brand running their software, the operator becomes bigger and stronger.

That’s good news from a trust point of view. But in its own right, Chomp Casino has a track record dating back to 2011. With a games selection that draws on contributions from some of the biggest developers in the casino industry, coupled with some generous bonus amounts and promotions, Chomp Casino has a great deal to offer.

Welcome Bonus and Special Offers

New players at Chomp are welcomed through the door with an exclusive welcome bonus offer – up to £400 in bonus, plus 150 bonus spins. The offer becomes valid over the first three deposits to your casino account, and starts from a minimum deposit of just £10.

The first deposit allows for a 100% match bonus, up to £100, plus 50 bonus spins for Starburst. The second deposit bonus is identical, offering the same match percentage, limit and ‘free’ spins allocation. For the third deposit bonus, it’s a 50% match up to a maximum of £200, plus a final 50 ‘free’ spins on Starburst.

In terms of the bonus amount, this is decent enough, comparing favourably to a number of other casinos out there. While you’re limited to just Starburst on the ‘free’ spins, it’s a favourite slot for many players, and it’s possible to win big money with this slot, so it certainly could be worse.

Terms and conditions apply to the bonus, as always, and you should read these before deciding whether this bonus is for you.

Firstly, there’s the wagering requirements. On the ‘free’ spins, anything you win needs to be wagered 30x before you are eligible to withdraw funds from this part of the bonus. This is a steep hurdle in itself, but it’s arguably around the standard for promotional offers of this kind. But where this bonus really falls down is in the main bonus wagering requirements. These stand at 30x deposit plus bonus – which if you’re depositing up to the maximum specified by the bonus offer, is up to 60x on your first two deposits, even more on your third.

You’re also capped by a maximum conversion clause, which states the maximum conversion from bonus funds to cash is 5x – in other words, you’re capped on how much you can actually withdraw from the bonus, which would be especially annoying if one of your ‘free’ spins hit it big.

The bonus is limited to selected slots games only, and players have 28 days to use their bonus and meet the wagering requirements before they can withdraw from it. With the spins, they’re active for just 7 days, so once this bonus gets started, there’s no time to lose.

The bonus offer is acceptable, but these terms are just too restrictive. Chomp Casino should look to make their bonuses and promotions more flexible in future, which would certainly make this a more attractive proposition for new players.

There’s an ‘All Promotions’ button on the main banner display, which you can click to reveal a lineup of the latest special offers and promotions. Chomp does well here, with a number of different promos running throughout the year. These are constantly changing, and some of the promotions are seasonal or tied to specific events. The promos page is well laid out so you can see all the promotions at a glance, and clicking on each promotion reveals the full terms and conditions you’ll need to know before you claim it.

At the time of this review, there were a number of promotions running alongside the main welcome offer, including Booster Bonus 25, where players get a 25% deposit match up to £100 on set days, and Free Spins Frenzy, where players could claim up to 100 bonus spins with just a £40 deposit. However, with the promos constantly cycling through different offers, you need to check in at the time to see which offers are worthwhile claiming.

Software and games

Software and Games

Chomp Casino is well designed, and the casino lobby is structured to be easy to follow. It has a stylish but conventional look, and if you’ve played at other online casinos, you’ll feel instantly at home. It’s clear that Chomp has recently redesigned their site, and some throwbacks to the old design still remain. This is something that will surely get fixed in time, as with a few areas where the design looks a little incomplete. But on the whole, the website is visually appealing and definitely user-friendly, which goes a long way towards delivering a strong player experience.

The selection of games is impressive, with Chomp drawing on Nektan’s arrangement with several of the leading software developers in the industry. This means Chomp Casino has managed to secure a number of leading slots titles like Starburst, Cleopatra, Immortal Romance and White Rabbit.

Slots are the main game type here, but Chomp also has a lot to offer on the table gaming side. There’s a fine selection of variations covering the likes of blackjack, roulette and baccarat, and there’s even the option of live gaming, courtesy of leading live developers Evolution Gaming.

Games are provided by the likes of NetEnt, Microgaming, Nyx Interactive and NextGen Gaming, as well as a number of proprietary games developed by the Nektan team. They combine to offer a strong gaming catalogue, filled with some of the most enjoyable slots on the market.

When it comes to software and games, this is arguably where Chomp Casino is at their strongest, and if it’s games you’re after, you should definitely give Chomp a second thought.

Mobile casino app

Mobile Casino

Chomp Casino bills themselves as mobile-first, so you would expect them to perform strongly in this department. Their website doesn’t disappoint, porting perfectly to mobile (albeit with a slightly reduced lineup of games), thanks to the responsive design. The graphics on mobile are to the same high standard as you’d find on the website, only with an altered layout to take account of your screen size. The result is a virtually seamless experience, played in browser on any device.

Unfortunately, it seems Chomp Casino don’t yet offer apps for iPhone or Android users. This isn’t exactly a problem, given the strength of their mobile website, but it’s a nice thing to have, and they might like to consider releasing apps in future to make it even more convenient to play here.

Deposit and withdrawal

Deposit and Withdrawal

Chomp Casino offers access to the leading e-wallets for deposits and withdrawals, including PayPal for easy, hassle-free payments. They also support credit and debit cards, with typical payout times running at up to 5 days after processing. Processing can take anywhere from 24-72 hours, a little on the long side compared to some other casinos.

The maximum withdrawal amount is capped at £20,000 per week, and larger amounts will be paid out in installments.

Security and trustworthiness

Security & Trustworthiness

Chomp starts out with an advantage on the trust front – they’ve been around since 2011. Anyone with a track record that long in this industry has clearly been doing something right. And when you consider Chomp Casino has the backing of Nektan Limited, a company responsible for countless other casino and gambling brands, it’s a comfort to know you’re dealing with a legitimate operator straight off the bat.

Chomp Casino is based in Gibraltar, a UK overseas territory and a hub of the global gambling sector. They are licensed and regulated in Gibraltar to provide gambling services, but also in the UK under the watchful eye of the Gambling Commission. This is a legal requirement for any operator doing business in the UK, but it’s also good to know there are is an independent authority watching over their every move. In the case of Chomp Casino, their dual license means there are two independent bodies holding them to account – doubly secure, compared to operators licensed in a single territory.

Chomp Casino is also a member of IBAS, the Independent Betting Adjudication Service, providing Gambling Commission-approved dispute resolution in the event of player disagreements.

On the security side, Chomp is robust, deploying the latest in encryption technologies to keep your data safe. All payments are handled independently through third party processors like PayPal, who bring their own additional security levels to the experience. All in all, it’s hard to see how a site could be more secure than Chomp Casino, which is another big tick for them in this box.

There are a few complaints about Chomp Casino online, but nothing out of the ordinary, and certainly not for a casino that has been around for a number of years. It only serves to confirm the picture of Chomp Casino as a reliable, trustworthy and secure place to play.

Customer support

Customer Support

Customer support at Chomp is on hand through a variety of channels. There’s a local rate support phone number, if you need to talk to someone, or you can send the support team an email for more substantial enquiries.

Live chat is arguably the quickest and most effective way to communicate with the support team, but the problem lies in their limited support hours. Support clocks off at midnight, which is a bit annoying if you’re playing into the wee small hours. Otherwise, support is friendly and helpful enough – but it would be nice if they could expand this at least a few more hours in future.

Chomp Casino does a lot of things well. They’re a secure, trusted operator with a long pedigree in the market. Their website is designed to be easy to use, on both mobile and desktop devices, and as a result, you can quickly find yourself losing hours just scrolling from game to game.

There are some downsides, or areas for improvement, like the welcome bonus. This is too strict, and looser terms and conditions would be more appealing to players. Similarly, it’s a bit surprising they don’t have mobile apps, which would go a long way towards backing up their claims of being a mobile first platform.

But ultimately, if it’s all about the games, Chomp Casino does well, with titles from some of the best developers in the world creating an impressive listing of slots, with decent table games and live gaming to boot. On that basis, Chomp Casino earns a very respectable 4 out of 5.
