Overview

A relative newcomer in the online casino world, Dunder has quickly become leader in its field when it comes to easily accessible slots. Since launching in 2016, the site has used clever in-house software to spread itself across a variety of platforms and bring hundreds of high quality slots to players of all persuasions. On top of this, fairly lenient bonus requirements and an unblemished record for safety and security make this a site all players can get some value from. Read our Dunder review below to get an in-depth take on this new casino site.

Welcome Bonus and Special Offers

Dunder Casino claims to “love bonuses”, so let’s see if this passion actually manifests itself in reality? The first port of call for any new casino player is a site’s welcome bonus and Dunder kicks off its roster of promotions with the following:

  • 20 free spins on Starburst in the form of a no deposit bonus.
  • Triple your first deposit up to £50 when you make your first deposit + 180 free spins on Starburst (20 per day for nine days).
  • A 50% deposit multiplier worth up to £150 on your second bonus.
  • A 25% deposit multiplier worth up to £400 on your third bonus.

On first inspection, this deal is pretty good. The fact you can claim up to £600 and 200 spins on one of the leading online slots in the business is certainly attractive. However, we do have a few gripes with this deal. Sure, a no deposit deal is great and the triple deposit bonus up to £50 is useful for small stakes players. However, in our opinion, 50% and 25% multiplier for the remaining bonuses isn’t that attractive.

The main reason we say this is because the second and third deposits are where you can claim the most bonus cash. Now, it’s standard practice to offer smaller multipliers as you move along the deposit line, so we can’t fault Dunder Casino here. However, because the opening cash reward is fairly small, it throws the whole system out of kilter. For us, if the opening deposit bonus was larger, £100 for example, the whole package would be better.

But, as it stands, it seems as though the operator is trying to do two things at once. On the one hand, the no deposit and first deposit bonuses are great for casual players but they won’t be hugely appealing to high rollers. On the other hand, players only intent on making a first deposit have nothing to gain from the multi-stage bonus but pros will. If we leave aside the fact Dunder is trying to straddle two demographics and it’s not the best strategy in the world, the overall value of this deal is still fairly solid.

Playthrough requirement are 25X the deposit + bonus amount, which steers the overall play-through above the now industry average of x40 on the bonus. This applies to both the cash bonus and the wagering on winnings from the free spins. Another thing to take into account.

Promotions

Beyond the Dunder welcome bonus, you can activate a free spins bonus via the promo page. Here you’ll get 30 free spins on Emoji Planet. As with the welcome bonus, winnings from your free spins will be subject to a 25X playthrough with the following contribution weightings in place:

  • Slots and other games (except the ones listed as 0% below)
  • All table games – 10% contribution
  • Video poker, 1429 Uncharted Seas, Blood Suckers, Kings of Chicago, Retro Reels – Extreme Heat, Simsalabim = 0% contribution

When it comes to bonuses beyond the two we’ve mentioned, it seems as though Dunder falls short. After creating our account, playing a few games and running through the finer points of the platform, we couldn’t find anything in the way of loyalty rewards, reload bonuses or free bets. Now this isn’t to say they aren’t there. It may simply be the case that Dunder tailors promotions to your playing preferences and sends them to your account once you’ve cleared an already active deal. However, if this is the case, then it would be nice to be told that.

Therefore, in the absence of any extra information, we can’t call Dunder a leader in the industry when it comes to promotions. However, as we said with the welcome bonus, you can be confident that any bonus you do receive will be easy to clear. 25X as a standard playthrough is fantastic and something you can rely on to help make your added extras a lot more accessible.

Software and Games

In terms of styling, Dunder is an unashamedly “mobile style” casino. In practical terms, this means that software is capable of bending and shaping to suit the size of your browser. This is made possible through a combination of HTML5 and mobile-ready software, which both allow you to ante-up in an instant.

Perhaps one of the defining features of Dunder’s interface is its use of space. Everything is well positioned and there are sizeable gaps between each box in the gaming grid. This actually makes it easier to find what you’re looking for compared to other sites that try to cram too much info into a small space. On top of this, Dunder uses dynamic scrolling, which basically means you can click on heading, such as “categories” or “all games”, and the software will move the page for you.

Now, as impressive as this is, Dunder does fall down in terms of categorisation and headings. Unlike other online casinos, Dunder has just two headings (categories and all games) and that’s it. This means you have to do a lot of scrolling to find the game you want to play. In our opinion, this isn’t ideal and something that could easily be rectified with a more comprehensive search menu. The one saving grace for Dunder is that it mainly offers slots, so you don’t actually need to search through many categories to find something to play.

Looking specifically at the games you can play, Dunder uses a number of different software suppliers – NetGen, IGT, SGI, Quickspin, Evolution, NetEnt and Microgaming – giving you a choice of up to  1000+ games, perhaps rivaled only by Videoslots in terms of slots selection. Slots make up the bulk of the gaming menu, but that doesn’t mean you’ll miss out on options such as live dealer tables, blackjack, roulette, baccarat, video poker and casino hold’em. However, if you’re heavily into table games, you may burn through the list of options fairly quickly. In contrast, if slots are your thing, Dunder is up there as one of top players in the industry both in terms of breadth and depth.

Mobile Casino

Dunder doesn’t offer a mobile casino app, but that’s not a problem as we’ve already pointed out. Because the platform has been crafted in such a way that you can use it on any device, it means you can ante-up via your iPhone, iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, Windows Phone and your Blackberry. Is the interface as slick as an app? Possibly not. However, you will get instant access to the full roster of Dunder Casino games, features and bonuses.

Moreover, the interface will be fully touch sensitive which means you can scroll, swipe and press the screen to move around the mobile site. Sure, you might have to type the site’s address into your mobile browser instead of tapping an icon on your home screen, but once you’ve done that the process is just as slick and just as entertaining.

Deposit and Withdrawal

When it comes to payments, Dunder Casino has a fairly standard setup. Requests are processed within 24 hours and you’ll enjoy fee-free, instant deposits when you add at least £20 to your account. In terms of the maximum deposit, Dunder’s limits range from £200 (Paysafecard) to £1,000 (Euteller) and £5,000 (all other methods).

In contrast, on the way out, your withdrawal options remain the same, as do the lower and upper limits. However, in terms of processing, the method you choose will determine the time it takes. In most instances, you can receive your cash within a few hours, while others will take between 1 and 3 days:

  • Visa = £2.50 fee and processing times between 1 and 3 banking days
  • Trustly = No fee and processing times between Instant and 3 banking days
  • Skrill = £2.50 fee and instant processing times
  • Neteller = £2.50 fee and instant processing times
  • Euteller = £2.50 fee and instant processing times
  • EcoPayz = £2.50 fee and instant processing times
  • Paysafecard = £2.50 fee and instant processing times

Security & Trustworthiness

For safety and security, Dunder is a strong site licensed by both UK Gambling Commission and the Malta Gaming Authority. Beyond these regulatory checkmarks, Dunder Casino’s games are verified as fair by eCOGRA and the site itself is protected by SSL encryption and Trustly. In addition to these site specific credentials, MT SecureTrade Limited (Dunder’s parent company) is a fully incorporated company in Malta.

Another feature we noted during our Dunder Casino review was the fact you have to verify your account via text when you sign-up. In some respects, this is slightly frustrating. However, the upshot of this is that the process is more secure and, therefore, gives Dunder the chance to ensure only real players get to join the action.

Finally, in terms of player feedback, there doesn’t seem to be any red flags. Ask Gamblers’ community has a few issues with regards to the verification process taking a while, but that’s it. In fact, the main issue players have is the fees linked to withdrawals.

Customer Support

If you’re ever in need of a helping hand, the Dunder help centre has a full FAQ that should address many of your queries. However, in the event something goes wrong or you have a more complex problem, assistance is available via the following contact methods:

  • Email: help@dunder.com
  • Live Chat: Internal widget available between 11am and 11pm CET

A 24/7 live chat service would be nice, but with emails monitored at all times and response times fairly swift, it’s not a huge black mark in this instance.

Conclusion

Dunder may be lacking in some areas, notably table games and dedicated iOS and Android apps but you can’t fault the site’s accessibility and variety. Indeed, if you’re a fan of online slots that you can access via any and all platforms, Dunder is pretty much perfect. Could it be enhanced by a few more bonuses and a better search menu? Possibly, but the overall experience is pretty slick and you’ll never have to worry about gaming options or safety; two things that all serious players should appreciate.
