Overview

Overview

When you look across the online casino landscape, what you’ll find is that there is a whole host of bookmakers that have entered the fray. Launching back in 2001 and licensed by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, UK Gambling Commission, and Malta Gaming Authority, NetBet is a site that’s looking to build of off it sports betting foundations for sure. History tells us that casino sites that have been launched by dedicated bookmakers have not been without problems. While this site isn’t going to completely change that reputation, with its over 500 slots, more than 200 mobile slots, and live casino offering, it certainly represents a step in the right direction.

Welcome Bonus and Special Offers

No online casino can afford to overlook welcome bonuses and sign-up incentives these days. Crucial when it comes to drawing in players, NetBet has brought something to the table worth looking at, but it hardly ranks as anything special. When you register at NetBet you are entitled to claim a £200 welcome bonus, with this requiring a £10 minimum deposit. Wagering requirements for the deal come in at 30x, with the wagering requirement contributions being pretty standard as well (i.e. slots 100%, video poker 10%, etc). The only real surprise within the T&Cs was the fact that NetEnt slots only contribute 80% towards the wagering requirement, and we can’t actually figure out the reason for why this is the case. Summing things up, it’s a case of basic – yet not quite brilliant – when it comes to the NetBet sign up bonus.

Promotions

Promotions

Thankfully, when it comes to promotions NetBet certainly knows how to spice things up. It seems that with every passing day a new promotion is brought forward, from Monday’s Cash Attack to Sunday’s Pick of the Day, NetBet doesn’t stop short of giving players plenty of playing incentives. We must also praise NetBet for the spot promotions that they offer up, as the promotions calendar is stacked to the hilt with action. NetBet also offers the usual refer a friend bonuses, along with a loyalty program, although the latter falls a little flat for our tastes, as we aren’t fans of the somewhat grinding NetPoints setup. Yes, it does offer a large range of bonuses, cash vouchers, and monthly raffles, but that simply isn’t enough to keep us – and we suspect other players – hooked.

Software and games

Software and Games

NetBet’s appearance is rather hit and miss, as while we are fans of the dark and somewhat classy look it implements, the actual UI doesn’t do enough to differentiate itself from the sports betting brand in our opinion. It runs smoothly enough, but the site just feels a bit plain in places. It’s worth noting that NetBet is entirely browser-based, so Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chromebook users will have no real issues in accessing the site. Plus, when it comes to game choice, NetBet is happy to show that it is out to impress.

The biggest developers on the face of the earth all contribute to the game catalogue here, including NetEnt, Microgaming, iSoftBet, IGT, NextGen Gaming, Amaya, Betradar, Cadillac Jack, Leander, Lightning Box, Quickspin, and Playson. What this results in is a game selection that tops 500 titles, the majority of which are slots. When you check out the slot game selection, what you’ll find is some serious action made up of original slots, classic slots, branded slots, and more. Even progressive jackpots like the millionaire-making Mega Moolah make the cut.

From the reels to the tables, the action just keeps coming at NetBet, with 30 card games and 20 different types of roulette giving players plenty to get stuck into. Last – and by no means least – NetBet also offers players a live a casino to enjoy. But this isn’t just any ordinary live casino offering of a game or two, what’s offered really does constitute an entire live casino suite. 7 Roulette tables and 2 Blackjack tables join the likes of Casino Hold’em, Three Card Poker, and Caribbean Stud Poker to make for a pretty robust offering.

What’s a bit disappointing is that there isn’t really too much to talk about here when it comes to tournament action, so NetBet could do with picking up the slack here. Although, we must say that we like the fact that NetBet does throw out some impressive game recommendations, so players will never be stuck for something enjoyable to play.

Mobile casino app

Mobile Casino

NetBet isn’t going to shake the foundations of the mobile casino scene, but we didn’t really expect it to do so. Accessible via QR code through iOS and Android devices for added convenience, NetBet mobile casino is browser-based as expected and can be used via most smartphones and tablets. The minimalist theme works pretty well on the smaller screen, while the loading times are snappy, which is another plus point. From what we can gather, it looks like most games from the main site make the transition to the mobile stage. This includes current “Top 10” ranked games, such as Basic Instinct, Alien, Mermaids Millions, Alice Adventure, Avalon and Game of Thrones. Multi-language support is also made available (French, German, Spanish, Greek, Russian, and Japanese) for those that require it. Not spectacular, but by no means awful, it’s pretty fair to say that NetBet mobile casino is solid.

Deposit and withdrawal

Deposit and Withdrawal

Here is where NetBet begins to become unstuck, as the site flatters to deceive when it comes to deposits and withdrawals. First, they don’t list the withdrawal time on the site, which is an issue in our eyes. Things only get worst from there, as when put through its paces, we found that it can take up to 4 days to complete the withdrawal process, while the minimum withdrawal is a pretty costly €20. The methods for depositing and withdrawing are vast, including credit and debit cards, Neteller, Skrill, Click2Pay, WebMoney, UKash, ClickAndBuy, Entropay, and PaySafeCard, but we don’t think that quite does enough to cover the lack of speed.

Security and trustworthiness

Security & Trustworthiness

One thing is for sure you can certainly feel safe when you gamble through NetBet, because this platform appears to be airtight when it comes to security. NetBet’s main license comes from Alderney, but the site has also been approved in Malta and the UK, so it’s clear to see why the brand is most notable on British shores. Looking at the verification of the site, GoDaddy provides that, while top-level encryption technology ensures that any on-site data – including personal information – remains under lock and key. iTechLabs backs the game RNG, with NetBet able to proudly display its stamp of approval. That being said, there are some questions over the self-exclusion feature, with many players reporting it be pretty ineffective.

For all the positives surrounding the credentials of NetBet, player and critic reactions to the site still remain fairly mixed. Sites like Casinomeister, ThePogg, and AskGamblers seem to believe that with NetEnt it’s a case one step forward and two steps back at times.

Customer support

Customer Support

From one slight negative to another slight negative, as NetBet isn’t the finest name on the scene when it comes to customer support. Customer support is offered by all the usual methods (phone and email included), with these lines manned between the hours of 8am and 12am UK time. NetBet has also crafted its own help centre for lack of a better term, which will work as a solid FAQ should you have any minor issues. Sadly, we do have to agree with many of NetBet’s critics who claim the customer support side of the site is a mixed bag. Response times are slow, staff are patchy when it comes to site knowledge, and it’s often a case of where you don’t exactly know what you’re going to get when you seek assistance.

Conclusion

Conclusion

When reviewing NetBet there is certainly a lot to take in, as the platform tries to stand out. The problem is that not all of it works, with the site being good – but not quite great – when it comes to being an all-round package. Our last word on the matter is this, for an online sports betting band NetBet has produced a solid online casino, but it is going to take some tweaking if it really wants to rub shoulders with the industry’s finest names.

    favourite VIP program

I’ve been on NetBet for a while, darted around a few casino’s to see whats offered before joining.
NetBet definitely has my favourite VIP setup, always got a contact to keep up to date and some tidy big wins available. Just a bit slow getting some of the new games in vegas.
Great ladies in the Live Casino too!
